电阻 are the basic components in almost all electrical or electronic circuits.  They control the amount of current that flow through them.  电阻 are used as a component in electrical networks.  A resistor has a fixed ratio between the applied voltage and the current flowing.  这个比值也称为电阻值, which expresses the extent to which the current is affected.
